Roxie was my first Dane. She has never made me regret my decision to get into the world of Great Danes, and she was the epitome of a "Mommy's Girl", making sure she knew where I was at all times.

She started her show career off slowly, but  finished just after turning a year old, under respected judge Virginia Lyne. Her first two times out as a Special, Roxie took Best of Opposite Sex over multiple Breed Winning competition.

At the Great Dane Club of Canada National Specialty in 2012, Roxie went in the ring for the first time in two years in the Altered Class, and took Winners Bitch before taking Best of Opposite Altered under Judge Frank Cresci. She showed like a true "Rock Star", proving once again that she does have a show dog attitude, on her own time, of course.

She took a piece of my heart with her when she passed, doing so the only way she knew how - in grand style, on her 9th birthday. There are no words to describe how much she meant to me, and how hard it was to say goodbye. Sleep softly, my sweet girl, until we meet again....

Roxie was out of Ch ValbyDane ShakeMeUpShakeMeDown by Ch Beau's Master Simbad.

Roxie is missed everyday by myself and her breeder and co-owner, Peggy Mignon.

Baelan head.jpg

I was asked to show Baelan at eleven months, and she decided that I was hers. After a couple years of living with Peggy Mignon at ValbyDane, it was decided that Baelan would join my family for good.

Shown in the classes at the Great Dane Club of Canada National Specialty in 2009, Baelan took Winners Bitch under Breeder Judge Judy Harrington. She then finished taking breed over notable Specials and a Group 4th under Judge Rick Fehler.

On January 16, 2013, Baelan welcomed 11 puppies, sired by Abu, Am MBISS GCh Can MBISS Ch Daynakin's Soulja Boy. 4 Brindle Girls, 3 Brindle Boys, 3 Fawn Girls, and 1 Fawn Boy entered the world, and Baelan is an excellent mother.

On only her second trip down to the United States, Baelan made her presence known, coming home from an eight day circuit with one Best of Opposite, two Best of Winners, three Winners Bitch, and three Reserve Winners Bitch wins, and 8 points toward her American Championship, including both majors required. She now has ten out of fifteen points toward her American Championship.

Her last show out as a veteran, entered only one day, Baelan took Best Veteran in Group under Pat Hastings, and Best Veteran in Show under Denise Cornelssen. She was the firstDane in Canada to win a Best Veteran in Show.

Baelan became a member of the Great Dane Club of Canada Register of Merit, for producing four Canadian Champions - which all were accomplished before the puppies reached a year of age. She has produced five Canadian Champions, four of whom are now Canadian Grand Champions, and four American Champions, two of whom are American Grand Champions.

She has given me more than I ever could have hoped for - she is an extremely special girl.

Baelan is out of Ch ValbyDane Quest of the Goddess by Am Can Ch Whisper Hill's Tuff-E-Nuff.

Bred and owned by Peggy Mignon, owned and missed every day by Katie Chappelle.

Epic Head.jpg

This is, indeed, Epic.

She was one of eleven babies born from Baelan's only litter, and stole my heart as soon as she opened her eyes. She is a very smart girl, with flair, style, grace, and most importantly: personality.

Epic came away from her first three shows so much wiser, and with six points toward her Canadian Championship. On just her fourth weekend in the ring, just before turning 8 months old, Epic went in and took Winners Bitch all three days, and Best of Winners twice to officially claim the title of "Champion". She is not only my first dog to finish as a puppy, but she is my first Breeder, Owner, Handled Champion. I am extremely proud of this little girl, and how well she's done at such a young age.

Her first trip down to the States saw Epic taking Reserve Winners Bitch to her mom, and then Winners Bitch the next day, to recieve her first two American points.

On just her second trip to the US, Epic came home with another five points, and one of the required Majors toward her American Championship.

At the Great Dane Club of Canada Western Division Regional Specialty in 2014, Epic took Select Bitch to her brother's BISS, and her sister's BOSS, acquiring the last of her points needed to achieve her Grand Championship.

At two and a half years old, on the back of some hard work by Cody Gagne and Kelly Chappelle, Epic attained her Rally Novice title, the first ValbyDane to ever do so.

I must express the hugest of thanks to Peggy Mignon of ValbyDane, not only for allowing me to be so involved with this litter of puppies, but for Epic. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for this puppy. I have never had a dog respond to me the way she does, or work in the ring as well. She has made me a better trainer and handler, and I am so proud to call her my little girl.

Epic is bred, owned, presented, and spoiled by Katie Chappelle and Peggy Mignon.
